Default Cowl leak

I've been having lots of problems with leaks under the dash coming from the cowling. It's rusted out so badly that it doesn't flow properly to the drains on the side and just drains right down into the interior on both corners. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to fix this problem? I would really appreciate it! Thanks

Your looking at major work. If you have it done, expect a few grand.

Short term is to block off the cowl from on top. So water never enters.

This is a very common problem with old mustangs. The cowl leaks, drips on the floor and the water rusts out the floor pans. Opening up the cowl and replacing the sheet metal is the right thing to do. This process has been documented in many magazines and is no easy task. There are a few quick fixes out there.

Cowl vent cover

cowl vent repair kit may work if it is not to rusted out

Good Luck,
Jon

There is a company out there that makes a cowl cover that is magnetic. I've seen it at Mustang car shows. But, don't remember the name or make, sorry.

It's made like the signs that people attach to the side of their car/tks. Works pretty good. Not a permenent repair, but a bunch cheaper.

To do a proper repair, prepare to spend around $2000.

You can block off the cowl with one of those $10 quick fixes but that means no air circulation into the car. Fix it properly. E.
