Heres the beef.

The late model 5.0 I believe 1980 and up uses as you know a 50 oz flex and 4 bolt damper.

You wouldnt want to use the old 3 bolt damper anyway because its for the lighter 28.2 oz plate. Also the timing marks are different too. Leave on the 289.

Solution: You will want to use a 50oz flex plate. If the one supplied does'nt fit in the bell housing, you will need a smaller plate. The one thats on your C-4 will most likley be the one you use. (The plate must match the trans). But make sure you balance it to 50oz. Ford made a 157 tooth & 164 plate later is the AOD plate. And use a late model 4 bolt damper designed for the 50 oz plate. Confused yet?

WARNING using the wrong balance will shake your teeth out.

If all else fails,,,,,GOT HAMMER?

Good Luck, Hope this helps
