i have the motocraft pice of stuff dis. right now.. what do you guys reccomend for replacing it? i have the msd 6a box. could i get the timing control for this too so i can adjust the timing from inside the car while i drive. im not running nos but i would really like this control. Also what is the best distributor for the buck.. i have the pertronix exectronic pickup so i dont have points in the current one and i could switch that at any time into the new one so it dosnt matter if i have that or not. You might ask whats wrong with the current one but it look like crap. i would like a performance one and its off a tooth right now so it runs like hell because i have to guess timing. if it were off a tooth and i wanted 14* what would i set it at then? any idea?

why don't you just re-stab it, so it's not off anymore?

Drastik has a good question...my question is what kind of budget are we talking for the distributor? I have used the MSD Billett distributor on several different cars and like the performance. P/N: 8582. For an adjustable timing control Module, MSD has P/N: 8680. 15 degree adjustable from your seat. Between the Distr. and Timing Module expect to spend an even $300.00.

i dont like my old one so i figured that if im going to pull it then i might as well put a better one in. With my modifications should i just put it back in and replace the spring and weaight set in it? I hate to let my pertronix elec. go to waiste. just bought it a few months ago. Anything else i can do to help timing. sometimes if i can get it just right it kicks butt and runs like hell. then the next day i will feel like its pinging so i tap it down a little and it runs like the timing is too low. im always trying to get this to work.. could this be because its off a tooth?

Just ebay the old one. They are very popular for guys that want to update but keep the stock look. Should get some money back on it, and then you can upgrade.
