FINALLY THE QUESTION(S) DO I NEED TO UPGRADE MY CLUTCH DO TO THE FACT THAT I'M GOIN' TO UPGRADE THE TRANNY THANK YOU ALL. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS/GALS. SCHOONER |

Re: Do I Need To Upgrade My Clutch
I wouldn't think that you would "need" to... however, if you got the thing apart while doing a tranny swap... you may as well freshen everything up... and if you are going to freshen up, you may as well thow down the extra couple of bucks and take away all doubt.

Re: Do I Need To Upgrade My Clutch
Hi Phillyfanfrombirth.
I'm new to all this car stuff and I'm trying to learn from helpful guys like you. So you suggest I replace the clutch while I'm upgrading the tranny. That's fine with me ~ however, do I replace the clutch with just a newer one Or is there an upgraded clutch that would accomodate the T5 tranny better ? ? ? Thank you guy for you helpful imput. Re: Do I Need To Upgrade My Clutch
UGH!!! I cant quite remember!!! I thought i had read an article about swapping them, and that they just used the adapter to move the trans back the inch or so it needs to, used the different crossmember required, got the driveshaft shortened and the different trans input thing and that was it. But when i got my 302, I bought a special flywheel that would allow me to bolt up both the clutch for a t-5 and for a 3spd. It was an article from mustangsplus, in Mustang and Fords magazine. I went to their website and they have yet to put that article on the site. Hopefully I can find it and I will let you know.
