Default Door lock installation

Could anyone please describe in "dummy" detail how to install my door locks? I dont get enough direction from the Chilton manual. When I bought the car there were no locks on it, I currently bought some new ones but just cant figure out how to get them on. I would appreciate any help though, Im sure its something simple Im not doing. If it makes a difference, I have a 67 coupe. Thank you.

They have a u shaped semi flat piece of steel that holds them on from the inside.

Basicly stink em in the hole and slide that metal piece from the back then hook up the rod to the door latch.

The "U" shaped piece is a spring clip that holds the lock cylinder in the door. Put the lock cylinder in then push spring clip into place. It snaps in when properly inserted.

The control rod clips between the door latch and the lock cylinder. Special clips made of nylon/steel are used on the control rods. First the clip is inserted over the door latch lever. The control rod is inserted through the pivot hole in the clip AND through the latch lever. Finally, the clip is rotated until it's end clips over the control rod. Repeat for each end of the control rod.

Notes:

control rods must be the right length and are not interchangeable.

control rod ends must be > 90 degrees else they have a tendency to pull loose.

control rods are properly installed when they work the latch levers properly; its a trial and error process getting them to work well.

Thank you both, I tried it and it worked. The only thing is its not real smooth on how it works but I figure its just the old mechanism in the door. The locks are new. It works and thats what matters. Thank you!

Take off the door latch part and lubricate it.

Once you take it off you'll see what needs to be lubricated.
