drip rail chrome

Does anyone know how to take this stuff off, I also need to take off the chrome around windshield and rear window. This is a 71 fastback. Tried to pop it off with a screwdriver but realized real quick that wasn't gonna work without bending the heck out of it. Thanks :)

The drip rails are not fun. I have a 68 and used a swiss army knife with the bottle opener end. i wrapped lots of electrical tape around it and slowly poped it up from bottom to top. Take your time and it is possible to save them. as for the windshields. I'm not sure. But I do know there is a tool for this. Hope this helps

You need the mldg tool. It has a long flat pointed piece, or two, that you work under the mldg against the glass. You find the clips and pop the mldg off the clip.

It's easier then it sounds, after a little practice you'll get the hang of it and they will go very quickly.

For the drip rail go and get yourself one of those old type bottle openers/ can piercers ( every tool box thats been around a while usualy has one or two alongside the book of matches from Pep Boys.lol ). Cover the bottle opener end with a bit of tape and work the trim off a few inches at a time. Works a treat and is as easy as can be. Did it on my '65.
