Driveshaft
 

my drive shaft fell off today when i was driving i figured that the shaking that i was experiencing all week was the drive shaft and today i rompt on it and it just fell
i took a closer look at it and the rear u joint caps were chipped ( it was a huge chip like half the cap was broken)
i was wondering if any one woiuld know how this could have happened
65 coupe original rearend and trranny

You said it yourself. Origional rear and tranny!! lol 37yrs is along time.

When you feel that drive shaft vibration, It's time for new u -joints without delay.

i know that now
but the joints werent original but i still cant figure out why they just cracked in half?
