Question edelbrock carburator

i put a edelbrock carburator on my 69 and i cant hook up the kickdown cable up to it, i bought the ford kickdown bracket made by edelbrock and it still didnt work. everyone i have talked to either doesnt know how to or doesnt have their kickdown cable hooked up. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

i bought a kickdown cable from lokar to hook my kickdown up,what kind of trans due you have?

i have a standard c-4 automatic with a 302 it has the stock kickdown rod on it.

Not to give you more headaches but the ede. timed vacum port for distributor advance is not right for the fords either. The ford distrubater requires full vacumn at full thottle the ede only go's to full vacum for a brief moment then loses vacumn again to that port at full throttle. I would go to a holley or a big block motorcraft both of which have the right hookups for you tranny and dist.Or you can get a mechanical advance distributor and not worry about vacumn advance and an aftermarket downshift cable. Your choice I would take the ede back personnally that is to many headaches for a "simple" carb change.
