Default Engine Block

Quick, need some help!!!!!!!! I am about to get a 302 block to convert to a 347 stroker. Only prob is that I am not sure what year the casting numbers on the block show. I also need to know if it is a 72 like the guy says, can it be made to a 347 w/o a problem. I also am wondering what the thing is with having a roller cam vs not having one? Will a roller cam give more power then the alternative.
