Exhaust Manifold

Does anyone know if 351W exhaust manifolds will fit into a 1966 coupe (289/C4)? I know they will bolt up but will they physically clear? Exhaust pipes can be rerouted if necessary. What is the flow advantage and is it worth the trouble? I know a lot of you will suggest headers but I hear a lot of stories about leaks. Any info or advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Lou,
I have a 351W in my 69 and the exhaust manifolds are better than the 289 log style but I would go with the shorty headers. I am with you about leaks that's why I won't put the long style headers in mine. The shorty style are alot better and usually do not leak. There are quite a few makers of this style just watch out for hedman they tend to last just a few years.

Thanks Clark. I'll consider your suggestion regarding shorty headers.

I got a 64 1/2 with a 289. I put Tri Y headers on mine and they won't leak just as long as you stay away from the paper gaskets. When installing them, you must loosen on side of the motor mounts in order to clear the wall. I can't remember which side though. It's your stang so the decision is up to you.
