Flowtech Headers
ANYONE EVER INSTALL FLOWTECH HEADERS ON A 289 HOW DO THEY FIT
|
Dude!... I'll let you know tommarrow! I just got mine UPS today.
I'm putting them on a 65' 289. I bought the 12102 Flowtech I std finish. I'll send you the instructions if you tell me your e-mail. I don't know if I can get it big enough to read. :D |

ok... here's the scoop. I had to lift the engine up about 2-3 inches to get the headers in. They didn't get in the way of anything, but I don't have air or power stearing. The driver side header slightly covers spark plug hole in the head so it had to be filed down. I cant tell you how they match up to stock exhost because I put on aftermarket duel(Which bolted up like crap, don't buy the duel exhost kit from mustang's unlimited). That about covers it...

mmmmflow tech
i got those i had to remove the clutch equalizer and z bar but they fit or slide right in and sound ok
they bolt up fine and i added dumped pack nasties to mine :D :D :D |
You didn't have promblems with the spark plugs?
|
uhh y would u
have probs w/ the plugs?
what kind of probs? |
The spark plug hole was slightly covered by the headers,(the part with the bolt holes)

I bought a set of Flowtech shorties a few years ago and thought they would fit in my '82 GT with a 351. Come to find out, they fit the engine but not the car. Since I already hammered on them, I couldn't take them back and ended up buying BBK shorties made for a 351 mustang.
Anyway, my point is, I think Flowtech headers are made of pretty thin metal and are not high quality compared to other headers on the market. I'll sell them cheap if anyone wants them. |
uhh
still dobt know whatcha mean with the holes?
sorry |
