I have abuddy that has a 472. the bloc kfrom a 460 and a 429 are the same. The difference oin cubes is in the crank. His is bored out to make 472 cubic inches. He is running STOCK 460 crank, C&A rods, Ross pistons, Roller cam, Aluminum Cobra Jet heads, Victor intake and a 1350 alky carb. It is making close to 900 hp, with the port work and tuned finely. All he had done to the block is hard block around the cylinders and a stud girlde. I assume you are talking for a race car and this would be good. But if your running this on the street. the above combo would be great other than the alky carb and hard block. SHould still be good for over 700 horses.

Brad

Oh and also we turned it 8750 last weekend at the first pull of hte year on a stock crank.
