I finally got my thermostat from the Ford Dealer today. He was only able to look up the factory spec unit for me. This was rated at 88°C (190.4°F). Does anyone know if there is a Ford part# for a 82 or 83°C ( approx 180°F) unit?? I got several responses to stick with a Ford unit, but I did want to drop the temp to fool the computer for a few more ponies

Try a Robert Shaw T-stat from Autozone if the generic ones give you the willies. They're about $6-7, but are excellent pieces and come in 180 F.
