What kind of books you'll need depends alot on how good you are at figuring things out for yourself. They make reproductions of the origional assembly manuals, but they dont come with many instructions. Pretty much just the exploded views of everything. A shop manual is always a good thing to have, because it gives you step by step instructions. If you're looking for a more indepth explanation, try the "how to" books. For instance the "Automotive Electrical Handbook" will give you a general knowledge of auto eletronics. But nothing specific to a Mustang.
