What are the best sounding mufflers for a
289 with duels??

Without a doubt Flowmaster is the best but defintely not the cheapest.There are other mufflers available and the only way to make a good choice is to listen to cars with different mufflers then decide.You would be surprised on how many muffler shops have vehicles you can listen too.

I have a 68 with a 289. I have Tri Y headers and duel borla stainless mufflers and it sounds impressive. The only setback is that the borla's are quite costly. About $120 apiece. It was alot of dough but so far I have recieved may complements.

I have a '70 with a more or less stock 302 with shorty headers off of an '85 with Boss Turbo mufflers...The are fairly cheap and in my opinion sound great...They have that great muscle car sound...They have been on for about 4 years and are still good...They arent Flowmasters, but they still sound good...
