It can be done. I have been working on one for quite a while now. A number of companies now have headers and trannie supports avilable for just that swap. Cooling is custom of course, and it's a tight squeeze but I know of quite a number of people who have done it. As far as hp from a stock 460..not sure. I went to the 514 Ford Motorsport that makes 600 plus and about the same amount of peak torque. you will need a strong C6 and rear end. traction will also be a major issue, but you can do it.

BTW...a buddy of mine has a 68 that was being made into a GT clone. He is interested in selling it. Budget and a new baby are getting in the way. E-mail me if you have an interest. rfedd@aol.com

The 1969 460-4V made 365 HP @ 4600 RPM, 500 ft-lb torque @ 2800 RPM 10.5:1 CR.

Those are '69 numbers, taken at the flywheel.

Ron, what's the hood situation gonna be on that swap? I know yours is a drag car and the pictures I've seen don't show a hood.

Not a criticism, just an Honest question pertaining to street driven cars.

Rev...As the car sits now, it would require a 6 inch cowl hood. According to a company called MPGHeads, they make a set of headers, combined with motor mounts, that allow you to run your stock hood. You do have to drop the end link on your steering gear down 1 inch to clear. www.mpgheads.com
The headers and mounts I bought came from another source, and do not fit...I have been back and forth with those guys..but no fix yet. Oh...the 68 is going to be my street driver. I am just having too much fun with the 65 FB at the strip. The 347 is in, and even with a gear change from 4.86 to 4.33 it went 10.09 @ 132. This was on a 100 horse shot. I needed 200 horse and 4.86's to equal that last year.
