Headers Opinon
I want to know what ya'll think about the flowtwch 1 5'8 shorty ceramic headers. Their 100 bucks and I want something thats alright but cheap until later on. Its for a 1970 302.

Long tube headers will make more power. As much as 10 hp more on the same engine. Unless the car is lowered, I would go long tube.
My car is drastically lower than stock, so I run heddman shorties for the 351 windsor conversion in a 66 stang. I have run hooker full length headers in a 70 stang before and they ran GREAT. I have run tri Y headers before, but the hookers really made a difference and the tri Y's were basically no better than shorties. As for the money, you can spend it now or spend it later, but headers are a pain to install. I would buy ceramic just for the reduced underhood heat. So save up your nickles dimes and quarters and get ther ceramic. You will be glad you did. Hope this helps Jim |
Don't buy the flowtechs. They're cheap headers and you get what you pay for. If you want something reasonably priced, try looking into a standard hooker competition header. I had them on my old engine and was pretty happy with them.

I found out the hard way you get what you pay for. If you want headers do it right and get a good set. When i got my hooker super comps it made a huge difference I could feel.
