Headers question

since i am rebuilding my motor, i was going to go ahead and put headers on it. i have a 302 c4, is there anything i need to know or anything special to buy before i try to put these on? it has ps, pb, and a/c if that matters at all. thanks

I only have one question....what kind of headers are you using?

The only thing that comes to mind right away is you will need a lowering bracket for the power steering. It lowers the slave cylinder for header clearance.

Another problem with power steering hoses is keeping them from frying against the side of the headers. On these old cars, the hoses move to follow the control valve, and bump up against the side of headers.

I had good success wrapping the HOSES with a healthy dose of header wrap. You can wrap the header tubes too, but be warned that this stuff causes metal fatigue and will ruin the headers in a couple of years, so I would just wrap the hoses real good....and use hose clamps to hold it on, tie-wraps will melt.
