Default heater problems

I have a 66, with a 200 6. I have been having heater issues since last winter. I was going to replace the blower motor but I was wondering if anyone knows if the problem could be the switch and where I could find one. The heat works but when I put the switch over the blower doesn't turn on.
Thanks

Sure, could be the switch, could be the blower motor.

You have to check and see if you have power to the blower. If you do, then the blower is bad.
Have you tried hitting the blower with your fist?? If it starts to run the motor is bad.

Have you checked the fuse? have you pulled the fuse box and made sure that the connections on the back of the box are good and not all nasty. i know that my winshield leaked and got into the fuse box when the car was sitting and has a little curosion on the back of some of the fuse connections, just something to check. as far as the blower you could disconnect the blower wires, and install a 15amp inline fuse to the power wire and connect the blower directly to the battery just touch it to the terminals. if it comes on then your good. then it mite be the switch. or a fuse. mine would also blow the fuse from time to time.

Yeah I have checked the fuses and the back of teh box. It has blown many fuses in the past. The blower does run when I have connected it straight to the battery but I haven't tried that in awhile since it has been warm out, but not anymore. I was told there could be a dead spot in teh brushes or something. I am gonna try and replace teh blower motor and hope it solves teh prob otherwise i will be on the hunt for a new switch. If anyone knows where I could get one it would be great.
Thanks
