yeah its a heck of a deal. The guy is a repo man/car salesmen so he gets things dirt cheap and i mean dirt cheap. many nice cars go through the auction for what i spend in gas money each week. I hope i can get this car, but i will use all the parts from it though probably. Im trying to trade him my 81 for it, i thought it was an 84 but i found the title yesterday and its an 81, don't know what had me thinkin it was an 84...

Took the spacer off, timed it, adjusted the carb on it today. That really helped the car out alot, id say at least 20-30 horses and got some low end back too. Today i also talked the guy down to $300 bucks on the 89 gt, and might trade him my 81 for it too. i really hope i can get this car. If i do it will be quitting time for the mav awhile, since the gt's motor is blew. How much would it cost me for street, strip rebuild on a 5.0 stock shortblock?

In a good machine shop...hot tank & mag $80-$100.00 Align hone: $100.00, Bore: $95.00, Surface block: $85.00, Install cam bearings: $7.50 each, Check crank, clean & polish: $30.00, Grind .010/.010 crank: $100.00. Now if you want them to check and re-size the rods/shot peen: $10.00 each.
Then just ad parts, bearings, rings...$150.00. So somewhere between $650.00 low..if they find other problems..$1100.00 high side. Ron
