![]() I have a 66 coupe which I am about to start modifying. It has a inline 6 which is not original to the car and looks like what you see in '80's Fords. It also has a 3 speed manual transmision that needs rebuilding. I have purchased 2 source cars, an 87 Mustang with the turbo4 cyl. and the T5 transmision. The second car is an 83 Mercury Grand Marquie. It has a fuel injected 302 that runs real sweet.
Here is what I am considering doing. 1) use the T5 for the 66. 2) use the 302 for the 66 after rebuild. 3) use the source cars for power stearing and brakes. 4) use the source cars for disk brake change on front end. Question: The Merc has 5 bolts front and back. Should I use this as my source car for brakes and possible rear axel swap? The 87 Mustang has 4 bolts front and back, and may yield better handling suspension if I swap everything out? What gotcha's should I watch out for with what I am trying to do? Also, if anyone is interested in getting the 4 cyl turbo, I am selling it real reasonable. It should run clean, but it is hard to tell since the 87 needs a fuel pump. Thanks |
