Default Help Please!! clutch acting up

i just boiught a new king cobra clutch and after i installed it i noticed to wires bolted to the back of the block, one went to the firewall and the other went into a bundle of wires and wanted to know what they went to , but anyways when i took it for a test drive after the clutch install there was popping and backfireing while accelerating so i adjusted the timing and made no difference, do you think that it might be the driveshaft beacause i didnt mark it so that it bolts on the same way has anyone experience these problem, what was it like for you after the clutch install was it driving smooth or what, please help me, i plan on going to the track next month.
