Cool Help with rebuilding an engine

The engine is a 360 V8 out of a 69 F-100. Wanting to make some serious hp and torque and make this sucker fly but I don't know jack about the older carb engines. What would ya'll recommend doing to it? Heads, intakes, cams, carbs, cranks, pistons? all that good stuff. I'm also thinking the C-4 for tranny. Will this work? Thanks.
