'69 Mach 1 or Coupe????

Well, I rolled my Coupe last Wednesday. That sucks. Pisses me off too. I don't want to write about that.

But I'm getting another '69 to fix up and it should be done in about 6 months. I am painting it the same color, canary yellow, and the interior is going to be black also.

Question: '69 Mach 1 fastback, or stick with a '69 Coupe? What are your guys opinions? I think it would be cool to make the exact same car so people that didn't know I wrecked wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. But Mach 1's have that awesome look and are worth way more $$$ when they are fixed up.

And if any of you know where a '69 is for sale, let me know. Thanks.

By the way: I am using the same engine/rear end. I will probably end up using the same C4 too. But I am looking for a 4-spd car. I want a manual BAD.

There are pics of the old Coupe on my website in the sig. It's a pretty sweet car.

I would do it the way you can do it most reasonably.Aren't you to some extent still needing help from your family? Just get a shell and fix what you have. That's my $.02 anyway. Good luck. Hope it all works out.

Rev- Yeah, I'm only 16. I am now just looking at coupes and fastbacks, no Mach 1s. They have different interiors that I would have to buy, but fastbacks use the same thing as coupes do. Same carpet and everything. And I'm really indecisive about the C4/4-spd thing too. I'd love a 4-spd, that would be so fun. But we just put that shift kit in the C4 and it was great, should I just stick with the auto? I think when we put the car back together I'm going to try to make that car as light as possible too, just so it's less work for me to do in the future. Take out all the sound deadener and all that excess weight that I don't need. Should be right at 3000 or less than that at the track. This new project should be done by February/March 2002.

Dark Knight- I'm going to get shackle extensions to raise the back end up, not lower it. With my 295/50s, if I hit a decent bump they rub on the fender lip. I put in KYB shocks with extensions and h/d leafs, and it still did it, not as bad, but it was still there quite a bit. So now I will get 1 or 2 inch shackle extensions to raise it up even more. But I will get coil spring spacers for the front too so it will be jacked up a bit.
