In a stock '69 Boss 302, it will do 140 max in the top end. At least that's what the cop said the car was doing when he pulled over my grandpa on I-80. Those cars will go that fast, its just a matter of getting there.
Test the accuracy of your odometer. Find a stretch that you know is a mile and see what the reading is. If its 1.0, sweet. If its 1.1, then back 10% off whatever speed you see. I've never understood people saying, "It reads 5mph fast." Really, at what speed?
Sorry that's kind of a tangent, but I'd check out the accuracy of the reading just so you know how fast you're really going when the cops are around.
