Default I want a 67 or 68 Fastback Mustang,How much can I expect to pay? Help!

Well Im new here. I love, yes LOVE old Mustangs I have always wanted a 67 or 68 fastback model. Yes Steve McQueen didn't help this any LOL At any rate, I have seen them from $3000 for a wreck needing full restoration to $30,000 for a minty one. My question is this. How much can I get a decent daily driver for? If I get a 6 cylinder can I drop a V-8 in there later? Im not very concerned about "original" factory specs. Such as putting a V8 in a car that was a 6 from the factory and stuff like that. Any help would be great. Nice boards here by the way
