coupe to a fastback?
this is just a crazy idea i had but ive noticed how everyone wants a fastback now a days and i kinda came up with an idea but i dont know if its possible or not cause i dont know all the specs...i thought it would be kinda neat if they could come up with a fiberglass piece that could be connected to the back of a coupe with a few mods to make it look like a fastback...i know anything can be done in the world of cars i just wonder how difficult it would be to make a piece and convert it...(just for funs sake)what do you think?

Would be harder than you would first think. The fastbacks don't have the rear window the coupe's do.
I've heard about grafting fastback roofs onto coupe bodies when the bottom half of the fastback is unsalvageable. Some people will buy anthing though.

yeah more or less the idea i had in my head was just a piece that would slip over the existing tailend...if it was possible...wouldnt have to cut much of anything, anyways just my crazy idea

The fastback roof line will extend over the trunk of the coupe, making it useless.

well...
well you could take the old trunk lid off and there coudl be a trunk hole in the fiberglass to where you could put a trunk lid and still make it functional

I agree with Tire Burner.
Dumb Idea. As you stated in the beginning. You can do "Anything", it's just how much trouble, time and $$$ you want to put toward the task. Why not......just go out and buy a "fastback". Definatly cheaper and looks better. Plus, it's worth something to someone instead of a hacked up "coupe" with everything modified, etc. My $.02

I own a fastback and although they aren't as easy to find as coupes, they are still available in fairly high numbers. The only thing hard about finding one is paying the few more dollars for one for it when you find it.
