Default Idle Problem

I have a 99GT that has started having a problem with the idle. Every other day or so it would idle really low like it was going to conk out. It is now happening every day. However, I can eventually get the correct idle after reving it for a minute or two. Any clue as to what this may be? Has anyone had a similar problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich

What's Up! Alot of guys have been having a problem like you describe. It's your IAC. This parts is gummed up with carbon and needs to be cleaned with some carb cleaner. The IAC sensor is dirty and when cold it won't let the piston inside open and close. When it warms up, all the gunk inside melts and allows the piston to move freely or as it's supposed to.That should smooth your idle out. This IAC is located in the front of your upper intake. There is a little black cap on it. Only two bolts holding on. Check out this link, it will give you some more info and also a pic on the second page to help you identify the part in case you didn't know where it is.
