my grandfather swairs its a vacuume leak. i have checked the normal spots. carb, vacuume advance hose, pcv valve hose and the full vacuume on the carb witch has a rubber cap on it. and i checked the the hose from the intake to the brake booster. i did notice that when i checked the one for the brake booster it ran alittle better when i plugged that up, it idled a little longer, but i checked the hose and i didnt see anything wrong with it. any other places i should check, i think i checked everywhere.
