Cool Ignition switch: Accessories staying on???

When I turn off the car and pull the key out the stereo and clock stay on. I have to put the key back in and mess with the ignition switch a bit to get it to turn off. Also sometimes when I turn the key off and pull the key out when I open the door the door chime stays ringing. What the heck is wrong? What needs to be done to fix it? When I parked it last night nothing was on but when I got in the car this morning the stereo and clock were on? I've had the car a week and it's been doing it since I bought it. 1995 GTS.
