Default Keep breaking motor mounts!

ok im done trying to use the stock mounts. second set i have broken in a month. what do you think causes this? is it just the torque or do you think it cound be a heat issue? just asking becuase im looking for a set of poly mounts now and dont want to destroy them too because of the heat from the headers. they are hooker super comps. they do not touch the mount or anything but for some reason i destroy the stock mounts quickly. also for a torque strap what should i use? and where should i bolt it too? i dont want to tear out a piece of my engine bay because it was too weak to hold the torque. ill make something if i just knew the best place to mount it too on the frame and the engine.

Why not try a set of solid engine mounts? Do you use the car everyday for street use?

Default Torque?

Maybe I'm missing something here. Have you ever chassis dynoed the car? Unless that engine is putting out more torque than I believe it is, stock motor mounts should not break. Check the condition of the tranny mount and replace as needed.

With not more than 350 lb/ft of torque (flywheel), stock mounts shouild be OK, IMHO.

i know its not accuriate but desktop dyno rated my setup at 425hp and 350 torque at 5500 rpm. i hardly run it that high but sometimes i do let first gear run out a bit. yes i do drive the car every day.. and i mean every day. theres always something to do and its my only car. as far as the trans mount i belive its ok but ill have to double check. do you think that maybe because of a bad trans mount im over stressing the motor mount? when i do break the mounts i break em good. compleatly tear in the midddle. 2 days ago i took of from a stop..no realy to hard. but i felt the pedal move away from my foot. i had felt this before and found it was the motor moving up and away from the drivers side. so i went home and opened the hood and powerbraked it and i could see the motor lift about 4 inches up off the frame. i let go of the pedal and wham the motor came back down. put another stock mount in and everything feels better now. just waiting for it to break again. i can still feel it flex now with the new one. is there something i can bolt in to make it not flex but not shake the car to pieces.

Default How about this........

How about getting those ploy mounts and making a torque strap?
I would mount the strap between the engine mounts and frame rails.
Make it good and tight to help take some of the stress away from the engine mounts.
The only other thing you could do is go with solid engine mounts but I know you don't want to deal with vibrations.
I would also check the trans mounts like REV suggested.
