Light part #57???? WTF
I'm helping a friend build a 66 mustang and one of the bulbs we pulled was (we think) a 57. Does anyone know where to find one of them? Also the other one was a 1157, is that the same 1157 that is very common today?

The 1157 is the same. I'm not aware of a 57, though. Where did it come from? There is a 97 (license plate lamp).
Take care, -Chris |
It came from the interior, around the instr. panel

The dash lights are 194's
The glove box & ashtray lamps are 1895's The under dash courtesy lamps are 631's Hope that helps! Take care, -Chris |
My Ford shop manual for the '66 Mustang calls for 1895 bulbs for the instrument cluster (lighting for the guages).

Could be. Mine lists both 1895's, and 194's, but where I mentioned them going before. Just to be safe, take your old ones with you when you replace them.
Take care, -Chris |
Could have been a change from '65 to '66 too. Early '65's had those Falcon like speedometer/instument panels, so they might call for different bulbs. Just a thought.

I saw on sylvania about the 1895 bulbs too, the 194's are the generic ford light (they go in four different spots on my explorer), but the bulb says on it the it is a "T57". I know it's not a 194, this bulb is round

Before you spend a fortune ordering bulbs from the Mustang parts suppliers, try Wal-Mart. I replaced every bulb in my 68 and they had every bulb with the exception of one.

I know the perfect place to get them, I just wish I knew the parts!!!

According to Mustangs Unlimited catalog, the instrument panel bulbs for a 1966 are 1895's.
