![]() I've found a 5.0L engine from an '84 Lincoln for sale (very cheap).
Is there any reason why I couldnt buy it (it is a serious steal) and use it to power my '65? Understood that its not exactly race tuned, but it is a complete engine and I am planning on building a daily driver. |

![]() Not sure on the performance of that year , but if I when on a tight budget inexpensive motors do the job just fine. If you have a v8 now it will bolt right up. If its got a serp belt id keep it.
I got lucky a year ago and bought a 86 Mercury Marquis for $100.00. I needed a motor for my classic Bronco and didnt feel like doing a rebuild at the time. Turned out the motor had already been rebuilt and I sold the car for parts and bought new tires. |

![]() I dont have a v8 right now, its the I6. I know I'm going to have to get a new rear end, tires and wheels, front susp, motor mounts, radiator, rear susp, alternator, starter, etc.
But then again, I just bought the damned wreck and I was going to replace all that junk anyways. |
