Default Halogen Head Lights/alternator change

I just installed some Sylvania Silverstars in my pickup and love them to death. I see that they make some sealed beam versions, with similar electrical post connections as those on my 66 mustang. I currently am running Wagner Halogens and am disapointed with the light output. What I am wondering is if anyone out there has gone with this sort of high output halogen? If so what, and what part number?

I am not really interested in changing my wiring over so that I can run HID, nor can I really afford/need that kind of light.

Also, I am still suffering along with my stock for alternator (60amp?), which pulses a bit at idle. I am looking to go to an internally regulated single wire alternator, probably from the GM camp because of affordability and versatility. Has anyone other there do\ne a single wire conversion? I hear you just run that one wire to the starter siloniod and totally bypass the external voltage regulator. Another fellow told me that 90-100 amp alt. would be fine, and that I might consider splincing a large fuse in the the system, because when these internal jobbies go out they tend to blow up things.

I know this is a lot of seperate questions in a single post but I am currently tackling a lot of little things at once.

Thanks and late Merry Christmas to all,

Aaron

As far as your head/taillights not working, I would suggest inspecting the dimmer foot switch. When I first got my car, my lights would spontaniously go out, and it was always fixed by stomping on the footswitch a few times. If that doesn't work, try replacing the headlight switch in the dash. If those two things don't work, it's time to inspect all your wiring for shorts (not fun).

Hope this helps,

Aaron

To anyone that is interested, I found one of the answers to my questions. On Sylvania's website, they have an automotive application guide for auto lighting that goes back to 1950. Apparently they make an H6024 sealed beam light available for mustangs in a few high performance applications. I am going to go ahead and get the H6024ST their SilverStar high performance line. It is a very bright white light that is much nicer than a yellow standard halogen.
