Muffler recommendation
I have a '66 coupe, 289, C4 that I have tried to keep all original when possible. However, the muffler on this thing makes this pony sound too wimpy. Is there a good muffler I can add in place of the current one that will give me a meaner sound (don't care so much about hp, but that would be an added bonus!). I'd like to keep the same exhaust manifolds and pipe (single exhaust) and only change out the muffler if at all possible.
Any recommendations out there?

If you want something deeper but not too loud, I'd try a flowmaster 3 chamber (50 series) or a dynomax turbo.

I agree with MrWesson22. Either Flowmaster [3chamber] or Dyno max. I run flowmasters on my 68 FB, 289 and Dynomax on my 01 F150 4.6. Both sound good on their respected vehicles.

Thanks guys. Sounds like everyone is very happy with the sound of the 3-chamber 50 series FM for a classic 289. I'll probably give that a shot this summer.

I use Flowmaster 3 chambers on my '66 and it sounds good but fairly loud. Without cats which decrease noise, I wouldn't want 2 chambers.
