Crazy idea for Muffler Dumps (pics inside)
Hi,
I posted earlier about the idea of having dumps on my muffler. Well, after several days of planning on the most easiest and cheapest way to do it, I have created this diagram showing my idea (please go ahead and laugh, starting now). I'm going to look into this idea tomorrow since all stores are closed on this ugly/rainy Victoria's day. Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. Hi,
I've looked at the MustangWorld idea several months ago, and that is what gave me the idea. But I didn't exactly have tools to go out and cut a cap off an oil drum, so I thought about this idea over several days and this is the easiest/cheapest way I could do it. Hope it works... Hi,
I went down to Master Performance and got a quote: $200+tax (includes parts+labour) if I get the holes cut-out, muffler-hangers relocated, and cut-outs welded. $100+tax (includes parts+labour) if I only get the cut-outs welded (holes I would have to do myself). I dunno, $100+tax seems good but cutting holes myself would seem like a daunting task. I dunno, maybe I'll hold off on this idea... (All prices Canadian) Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. I think Warlocks run about $50 each.

Hi,
I haven't gotten any price quotes yet on the Warlocks at my local dealers, but the thing is, I love the sound of my car (it sounds nice at higher RPMs), so I basically wanted the same sound amplified...It's a Mac Cat-back (Flowpaths I think). Oh well, it's not a big deal for me... Maybe one day I'll look into a pre-muffler cut-out... Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. Lad http://www.cubicdesign.com http://www.cubicdesign.com/mustang/ |

Why don't you just install a set of un-caps from jeg's. They're cheaper than the warlock mufflers or custom work to your existing mufflers ($53.00 /pr) and you'll probably get better exhaust flow out of them.

Nevermind, I checked out your drawing and one of your responces. Your current mufflers give a certain sound you like and you just want to make that sound louder, right? |

Hi,
Firstly, I've gotten a price-quote on Flowmasters and Warlocks. Flowmasters are $170CDN ea. ($110US) and Warlocks are $167CDN ea. ($108US). After %15 tax, I'm looking at about $195CDN per muffler + installation = $250CDN. Kinda steep if ya ask me. Basically I'm trying to create a sound closer to running an Off-road H-pipe with Flowmaster or Macs (I've heard those and they sound real bad-a$$). I prolly won't get such a sound since I'm running stock headers, and 4 cats. I've never really heard my car on hard acceleration, but my friends have told me its loud as it is. Maybe my ear-drums have gotten used to the current sound that it seems quite to me now. Bye! ------------------ Gautam N. Lad http://www.cubicdesign.com http://www.cubicdesign.com/mustang/ |

Hi,
Ya, I've looked quite a lot on the 'net to see if I could find any cut-away views of the muffler, which I couldn't find. It's ok now; I've put this idea behind me, since it's not worth it and will prolly just make it sound worse. Bye! |
