Defroster smells weird

I have a '95 GT and now that it's gotten cold, when I turn on the defroster I get a really weird solvent-like smell coming through the vents...nothing like an antifreeze smell at all, I've had those in other cars before (although I have a small leak there I can't seem to track down). Smells like starting fluid or something. Any ideas? Thanks.

Missing any ink pens?

Unload a can of Lysol into the fresh air intake while fan is on. Its about the only way to change the smell. If it persist, Id say something did drop down in.

Does it smell like windshield washer solvent?

Whenever I pump washer fluid on my windows, I get an alcohol kind of smell inside if I use the fan. Somehow the fluid is finding it's way into the heater box. Might be the same problem with yours.

Never thought of the windshield washer fluid thing, might poke around and check it out. I get crappy spray from the passenger side anyway.
