Mystery Tag
 

I'm hoping someone knows what this tag is on the underside of the
hood on my '66 Mustang GT coupe. It's brass, about 2" by 1" with
scallops around the outside. Along the top curve is pressed
in
"182L050". Along the bottom "AV4271". Each letter or number is
pressed
in individually. A script "FORD" runs across the middle. It's
located
on the underside of the hood, on the drivers side, closer to
the
front. You can read the script "FORD" while looking at it from
the front.

I bought the car in the Grand Rapids, Mich. area. It may have spent
it's early years in the Detroit area. It's silver frost with a black
vinyl
top, 4 speed, with a rally-pac and pony interior
