I hope u didn't pay too much for that. I see lots of bondo, missing parts, and a motor that bearly runs. It's going to be hard to find a buyer.

Try for a grand, but u might have to go down to 500. If it's really tore up, worse then I can see, then it might only go for 250.

Default Condition?

Yup, price is dependent on condition. Poor condition such as your '66 is in will get not much price. Salvage value is my guess. Maybe $500-1000 if you can find someone who wants it?

Default continuance?

Any possibility of continuing the resoration? Resto's in progress will always take a loss. Not that I want to be negative, but getting your money back on parts bought is not very likely at this stage. Sorry to be the bearer of not so good news.

If you can make it a really desireable purchase, you might get most of the money back, just maybe.

Ok this is the deal i'm 17 year old i have bugged my father to death tile he found me a mustang to restore. Now i don't have the money or time to spend on it so yes in away i could finish the restorying of the car but i don't know if i want to. Frankly i have became disgusted with how long its take to finsih it and just want it gone and a good price out of it to get something else.

Default Loss

If you can't or just don't want to, you will end up having to make it worth while for somebody else to finish the project. You will take a loss on it. Try to get the best deal you can with the time frame that you have.

Your best bet would be to stick with it, and not give in so easly. Maybe if your dad sees that u are going to give it your best on the car, he might help u out.

My guess, is that this is a test, from your dad, but it's up to u.

I agree that it could be a test, and besides, if you stick with it, the reward can be so much more. If you hang on, and get the car back to at least a decent condition, and then compare it to the pic you posted, I would bet you'll be happy that you stuck with it. And if not, you have a chance to sell it for enough to break even. (Counting that youre not going to have to do a lot more high dollar work to get it back to roadworthy)

Come on guys .... are you lookin at the same picture i am ???
Bud do yourself a favor, don't spend another dime on that thing. Take whatever you can get for it ... there's rust all over it, the body panels don't look like they fit ... it would cost you a million dollars and 50,000 hours of your time to restore that.
When you mess around with fixing up old cars, occasionally you are gonna get in over your head or spend money on something you shouldn't have, we have all done it, I personally have done it several times ... cut your losses ... put a "make me an offer" sign on it and get what you can ... and believe me it ain't gonna be much. If you have new parts you have bought, sell em on ebay.

For future reference - my 68 hardtop looked like yours when I got it. The only good news was there was no major rust on the body and I only had to replace the trunk lid, both valances, and the headlight buckets. I restored it from ground up and only paid someone to rebuild the engine, transmission, and do the actual painting. Every nut and bolt was restored or purchased new (mostly new old stock). I do have an extremely high category 2 show car, but it took every free second I had for 4 years and $15,100 to do it. It's a "very" expensive undertaking especially if you start out with what you and I both had. And also, most people I know have more in their restored cars than they're worth.

I think that Rev has the right idea here, you just dont want to hear it. I know how you feel. If you are only 17 you probably dont have that good of a job right?? I mean compared to some of the rest of us... there is a LOT of work you are going to have to do. sounds like you have made a decent start, but it is just a drop in the bucket compared to what you will have to invest. If you are looking to sell I would expect 500, but you might be able to get it up to 1000 if you fnd someone who wants it bad enough.personally I would have a hard time spending 500 on the car I saw in your picture. al I see is a big money magnet on 4 tires. if you are looking to get something done quickly so that yo9u can drive and enjoy it, sell that, and buy something that is in better condition.
