![]() What car would have a smaller crank pulley for my 351w?
I'm having trouble keeping belts on th alternator. Everything seem aligned properly now and I still keep tossing belts. I even use the "good" belts.(gatorbacks) I was told to use a smaller diameter crank pulley to underdrive the alternator. I just wanted to know what cars would have a smaller pulley. Mine measures 8 inches.

![]() Ford Racing makes aftermarket underdrive pulley sets...
However, if you are throwing belts, then I would think that there is another problem somewhere, if not with alignment, then maybe with the angle of the pulleys, one might not be completely square with the others... |

![]() If your set up is as you have it written, then you are not twisting that many RPMs... if you are, you need quite the upgrade at the intake...
Admittedly, I never really pushed much past 7k, but I never had a problem with the belts. |
