Need some help
I just bought a 66 coupe with the 6I. It wouldn't let me upload a picture so I hope my description will do. It is a short fiber covered copper tube about 6in. coming from the front of the carb down to the exhaust manifold where it had broken of. I cant find anything on in my books or on line. Has any one got a clue what it and how to fix it?

Re: Need some help
I believe you are talking about the "stove tube". You can buy a repair kit, but I have never done one. It is what makes your carb know when the engine has warmed up so the choke can adjust. You need that to work, or add an electric or manual choke.

Yep... everyone I've ever seen has been broken or replaced. Buy the replacement tube, drill out the remnants of the old tube from the hole in the intake and throw the new one in. Not too big of a job, but come winter, you'll be glad you had it in.
