New 60', et, and MPH record
Okay here is what happened. I made my first pass ran a 14.1 at 97 typical for my first run with the heat of the freeway in the motor still. Sencond pass ran a 14.7 at 69 around the 1/8 it shifted thrd good and hard pulled for a second then fell on its nose. I thought I had hurt the tranny. while it was cooling off I got to thinking what if the lincage between the back barrels popped of so I went to look at that and shebang the pedal lincage was binding and has been binding for a long time was only getting 90% throttle or so. I fix that my first pass after that whipped out a 13.4 at 99. I was so stoked I hot lapped it and ran a new best it breaks down like this
r/t - .790 (I have to deep stage the car to get a good r/t. I was shallow staged to get a good et that night) 60' - 1.89 (I was stoked when I saw the my previous best was a 1.98. I am on BFG comp ta street radials 245/50/14) 330 - ??? the 330 and 1000 ft timer are broke 1/8 - 8.431 1/8 mph - 82.34 1000 - ??? 1/4 - 13.293 (my previous best was 13.85) 1/4 mph - 100.00 (broke the century mark finally!!! I went on to make a best mph of 100.15 but I only ran a 13.34 on that pass.) I felt like an ignoramous hen I set up the throttle lincage I made sure I would get full throttle Now I wonder what I was looking at.I can't wait to get back out there on my good tires I still left ultra soft compared to my good tires I hope there is a 1.7 in tires matbe I can run a 12 with my set up. My set up is as follow 67 falcon, 3.25 gears, c-6, 289, ede rpm intake, 750 mechanical secondarys, 351 heads chevy 1.94,1.60 valves, 1 3/4 long tubes, and a cam from a lightning truck. Thanks red and 7
I never would have so either 7 if I had heard it and not done it...That being said I am a firm believer in chassis set up If you have read you post about the wheelie than you have seen what I am talking about...I can never stress enough to most "kids" I see you don't necisarely need al that power you need to get to the ground what you have first...I don't think I could even dream of runnin low 13's with my set-up if I was wasting any of it I am already running around a tenth faster than my MPH says I should be able to as long as I can keep that up I am happy. |
