Smile New to Forum-70 GT500 Superstreet

We are building a 70 shelby GT 500 conv. Superstreet. We Nascar tubed the front end cutting out everything but the lower frame, built a stailess steel firewall, and made the Shelby frontend into a 1 piece,flip-top, front end like the Cobra Daytona
but we are using Autoloc,s Linier Actuators to raise and lower the
front end.
The steering was built by Rod & Custom Motorsports with a Mustang2 R&P.
We put a full 2x4" frame under the car so we could make some 2" thick wall flex bars like they are using on the Eleanor SS but ours are welded in. We redid the tranny tunnel for a TKO 600(.68)
fifth gear. the Motor is shelby's Alum. 427,6-bolt maim, stroker motor (452). Shelby Alum.,Port& Polished ,CCed ,large valve heads with hard seats. Comp Cams Billet roller rockers, 687 lift roller cam for a blower motor. MSD Crank trigger with a MSD billet FE Distributor, Ford Mid.Riser, dual plane,2x4 intake.
Headers are custom made by Customcraft headers with 2 1/8'
tubes with a 4 " collector,JET-HOT coated inside & out.(Almost like the old JARDINE,Take-apart headers of the 60's) going 3" exhaust tubing,jet-hot coated into the Shelby exhaust collector in the rear.
We will be running a Pro-charger blower (10-12 lbs boost)with a
4" blower feed going to our custom built 2x4 blower hat made from a Cobra Oval air cleaner, wrapped in Phonilic with 2-660's
inside!
We enlarged the tranny tunnel to take a TKO 600 (.68 5TH)
running a 11" Kevlar/Kevlar custom built clutch to handle the
TQ. of the 900-950 HP motor!
We tubbed the rear of the VERT as much as we could , about
2" on each side & with MYIER fender flares, we are running 15.5 x
15", 50's on Godfather billet Mags. 15"x5" on front.
The 9" was narrowed 2" on each side ,tube stiffners installed to reduce flex. 40 spline Strange Axles with a Ford Detroit Locker
in a Strange 9" Nodular ,big bearing housing.
She hooks up with a full 36" ladder bar setup with coil-over 's
We put a Dual-line, ATL, 32 Gal. fuel cell in the trunk along with a CSI blower fuel pump & Pro-filter to feed the fuel! the trunk also has a twin Billet,Optima battery setup,200 AMP Alt., for the spark & the custom sound system in the car!
We made the Shelby Factory roll bar in the VERT, to really work in a 6 point ,hook up hidden under the interior side panels. Shelby 4 point seat belts!
We relocated the gas filler from the back center to a custom built ,flip top,gas filler lid located on the right rear top of fender.
Interior is mostly 70 Shelby but we are using Shelby's Series 1 front seats with the Vert back seats in the same fabric & color! Power windows, Shaved door handles, Custom Cobra Shifter, tilt wheel,Custom built Autometer Gauges with a 5" 200 MPH speedo,5" Tach with the shift light relocated to the back of the custom blower hood scoop on the hood! Custom Stereo with 4000 amps! We need it with the top down and runing alittle over the speed limit! LOL!!!!
We would like to get your input on the car as we are building it as a SHOW & GO ride and not for the strip! We hope to be in some Mustang Mags. Shelby Meets & Hot August Nights in RENO & show it in Vegas! We would like to get Carroll Shelby & Ford to revin the car as they have with the Eleanor SS ,as maybe a proto-type!
We have not started on the PRO_CHARGER blower as they don't make anything for a FE yet! We would also like to get a Billet
Alum.pulley setup made for the blower,Air Conditioning Compressor,Alt and Power Steering . We are HIP DEEP in CHEBBY country, here in Oklahoma, so it hard to get any one to build us something! Reply here or at bjmustangs@azalea.net
Thaks in advance for any replys!
