Oil leak

Recently I have noticed some oil leakage on my 66. The engine is a rebuilt 200 with approx 33,000 miles on it. Actually it doesn't even seem to be a leak as much as oil just coming back out through the oil cap and the PCV valve. The oil cap is free of obstruction and the PCV valve is still good, yet oil is basically coming back through both of them and getting all over the valve cover. I have checked the bolts on the valve cover and they are all snug. Anybody have any ideas what might cause this? I have checked and the oil cap fits tightly and the PCV grommet has a good seal. I appreciate any input and please let me know if I need to give any more engine info to help diagnose.

-- don't know if the gauge is right but it shows good pressure.
-- oil is clean and level is good

Stefan,
This does not sound good http://216.59.112.100/interactive/msgboard/frown.gif it sounds like blow by and that is usually caused by worn rings. I would do a compression check to see if this is the problem. When you say the PCV valve is good are you doing the rattle check?

Do your valve covers have baffles? Some valve covers (usually the tall ones for roller rockers) don't have baffles under the PCV valve. Just a thought.

I finally made it through. Sorry guys, my computer must have a bug or something as it won't allow me to access the message board portion of the site but once in a rare while. I can get to everything but the User's Rides, Classifieds, and the Message boards. Anyway, my valve cover is just the plain jane stock valve cover for the 200 inline six. It is fairly tall. I don't remember from the last time I had it off to replace the gasket whether it is baffled or not.

Since I don't know the next time my computer will allow me access to the board, feel free to email me with any input. Thank you and sorry for being a bother.
Thanks Clark and Red.
