I have no idea if its the same, but on a 66 289 its on a little stalk just above and in front of the oil filter. If it moved, sorry.

You're welcome. And unfortunately I don't know squat about C4s. Mine is a toploader and all my other (very limited) experience is with GM products. I know one of these folks can help you out though. Right folks? Anybody???

C-4 linkage adjustment

TUFF72, there are 3 adjustments that need to be very close:

1.) Loosen up the gear shift adjustment nut and put the transmission lever in neutral. Put the selector lever (inside the car also in neutral. Tighten the adjustment nut from underneath the car.

2.) With the lever still in neutral, move the neutral start switch into the middle of it's travel and tighten that adjustment down. Go to the inside ignition switch and make sure the car will crank both in neutral and in park. If not readjust either way until it will.

3.) Adjust the kick down linkage (cable) so that the kick down lever on the trans actuates at WOT but not much before.

With all that, you should be done, but make sure the detents on the tranny lever correspond exactly with the detents on the shifter mechanism.
