The real problem with the 351W heads is the "Expert" who was giving me guidance didn't know what he was talking about. In actuality I did not install the heads instead I purchased them delivered them to the local shop then left in frusteration when I was told they were to wide. Complicationg matters my car has the wrong motor mounts on it (from newer mustang) and my motor sits a tad higher in the engine compartment which makes things tight for my headers. I later confronted him and after looking through a couple books he had to admitt he realy didn't know what he was talking about. Thats not to say its as easy as you all made it out to be. Head bolts are differen't modifications need to be made to the gaskets and some boss thinging needs to be removed from the 351W head also only 69 to 74 351W heads will work (all vital information that is not easy to come by). In the end I got tired of everyone trying to sell me World Heads (windsor jr.) They insist "its a direct bolt on at $750" IT IS NOT!!! my stock rockers won't work with the windsor jr. meening you have to purchase a set of $180 rollers (cheaest I could find). Stock pushrods won't work you need hardend push rods costing another $90 and of course the stock valve covers won't work with the taller rockers so there goes another $90. That brings me up to $1110 + $550 installation. I tried every angle and it always added up the same. Even 351W heads after a valve job minor porting and installation were just to much. If I am going to spend $1500 on an $800 motor I might as well spend $4500 on a fresh 347 stroker motor which will push 400hp.
Sorry about the misleading information.
