I've been told by some people that the orininal color of a 65 Mustang 289 engine color is black other told be it is blue. Anyone has the right answer? I appreciate any responses.

65 289s were black blocks and heads, with gold valve covers.
Ford went to blue in 1966. ------------------ http://www.comports.com/2bav8 |

My 65 Mustang was built on May 14 1965, and came with a black block and gold valve covers.
I'm rebuilding mine now. Does anyone know the actual name of the "gold' used on the '65 covers? |
