Original or restomod?
 

hey everyone, got a question. My 69 mustang is all original except exhaust and paint. Would I be able to sell it for more money being original or have it a restomod? The original color is red but now it is black. If i changed it to red would i be able to make more money off of it? Im just wondering in case i decide to sell it. (college is expensive)

I guess my only thought is that to make it a restomod - you are going to put money into it. If it is original - then in my opinion - you are better off leaving it the way it is. I don't think you will get out of it what you put in it to restomod the car. Just my thought.

My personal opinion is you're pretty much always better off returning the car to its original condition. Either way you go, don't plan on making a profit. Most restorations involve more money than the car is worth. You're lucky if you break even. My .02 cents.

I don't normally buck the system but...

Its a Grande. I thnk you can only increase the value by modding it. Its not very collectable unless it has a big block or some other rare feature. These cars a dime a dozen here anyways.

If you like the car and are going to keep it, cut it to hell and build the crap out of it. If not sell the thing and buy a car to build the crap out of.

Im remided of a 57 chevy I saw at the Barret Jackson auction. It basically had a corvette chassis with the 57 body. It went for well over 100k . A original nowhere close to that price.

The main thing is do what puts a grin on your face.

The guys are right, if u mod it, u most likely will not get your moeny back out of it. But on the other hand mustangII460 hit it right on when he said they are not all that highly sought after as a collectible.

The question to you is, what is more important, speed? or Looks? If u want speed, build a 89-93 5.0. They are cheap around here and take so little to make scream. If u have a little more money and want to resto mod it....I say join the club we will be glad to have ya!!
