Default Paint ?

I just bought a 71 Mach1 and the guy who had it before me waxed over the hood. The problem is the black paint looks chalky with the wax on it. Whats a good cleaner to use on that flat black paint that wont harm it. Thanks.

Automotive paint supply stores sell "grease and wax remover" for preparation for repainting. I don't think it harms existing paint, but I wold check on that with the paint store.
