![]() I have a 67 Mustang that I added 4 wheel disc brakes to. They are manual, no power assist. They work good but require a lot of pedal effort. I have a master cylinder from a 4 wheel disc manual brake Maverick. It is the correct MC. I have an adjustable rear proportioning valve.
Now for my question. Who (what brand and model) makes sticky brake pads? I figure if I can swap my pads for some that really grip well I will have less pedal effort. What pads should I look for? Danford1 |

![]() There are many makes of "sticky" brake pads. I personally like Ceramic pads.
FYI, I don't think they ever made a Maverick with 4 wheel disc brakes. You have to make sure that the residual valve is defeated or removed from the rear drum brake portion of the master cylinder. If not the rear disc brakes will drag.

![]() Yup, I do use Praise Dyno front pads/rear shoes and like them a lot. The tests that I've read as well as my actual use of them makes me like them. I think they were about $50-60 for front (pads) and $50-60 for rear (shoes). New brake hardware was maybe another $50. All in all, I have been very happy. I do also have the power booster/mc from NPD.
The way I remember form way back when I had 4 drum manual brakes, it wasn't much fun when everyone else could stop a lot quicker than I could. Rev
